The Energetic Principles of Hatha Yoga

ac-fotofest.jpg

The Energetic Principles of Hatha Yoga

The Jung Center of Houston

5200 Montrose Blvd.

September 10, 2011 10AM-4PM

Develop or deepen your awareness of the subtle flow of Prana (energy) inherent to the practice of Hatha Yoga. Alignment of the body in an asana (posture) is important, but gripping or forcing oneself into an asana compromises the flow of Prana. Therefore, achieving proper alignment requires the practitioner to have an awareness of this subtle flow, so that appropriate adjustments can be made while moving into, holding and moving out of an asana. By allowing the inherent wisdom in the breath to be the guide rather than relying solely upon the mind, one becomes more of an “observer” in their yoga practice. Each individual will learn to apply this awareness and develop tools to release patterns and blocks in their physical and subtle bodies. For more info click here.
